Big Brother: Russell Wins the Veto, Saves Lydia
The cliques are starting to implode on “Big Brother” and it isn’t even Week 2 yet! Lydia was upset about being nominated and everyone consoled her while ignoring Chima. Laura, who was upset that she was almost nominated for having big boobs (or so she thought), was snagged up by the Athletes when they realized Jeff wasn’t really with them anymore and no one wanted Laura.
The Veto Competition was for Jessie, Lydia, Chima, Russell, Natalie (whom Chima picked as her player’s choice – why, no one knows), and Jeff to pop huge zits to get letter tiles. They had to take the letter tiles and spell the biggest word they could. For some houseguests, this was a challenge. Jessie couldn’t spell, Jeff thought tectronics was a word, and the biggest word Natalie could come up with was “last.” Russell, the self-proclaimed love muscle, won with the word “shotgun.”
Russell, obviously buoyant from his win, decided to talk trash about Jeff in the courtyard while most everyone was watching. After those two finished yelling at each other and Russell left, Jeff asked Natalie why he was a target. She said he distanced himself from everyone and wanted to have clean hands while the other three did the dirty work. He told her he didn’t like any of them and she told him if he weren’t an Athlete, he’d be gone.
Lydia, trying to save herself, talked to Russell and mentioned that Braden was a “shaker” and I don’t think she meant the religious sect. Lydia went to talk to Jessie and Natalie showed up. The problem was that Russell fibbed a bit and told Lydia that Natalie was the one who wanted to put her up. I remember both he and Natalie both wanting to put up Lydia. Lydia tells Natalie she knew that it was her idea to nominate her and wonders why she never looks her in the eye. Natalie admits to wanting to nominate Lydia, but wishes Lydia had come to her about feeling like she was snubbing her. After the three talked it out, Lydia did the old redirect and brought up Braden’s name. The Athletes, not being too terribly smart, realized that Braden was getting away with everything (Everything? What?) and decided to put him on the block.
Russell told his ally Ronnie, who for some reason, went and told Braden, Jordan, and Jeff. Maybe it was that National Persuasive Speaking championship that made him think he could get away with it. Braden started acting weird and Russell knew something was up. He confronted Ronnie, who denied telling him, even after Russell pointed out that Ronnie was the only one in the room with those three.
Russell called Jessie out to talk to him and told him he thought Ronnie told Braden, but they still went ahead and took Lydia off the block and put Braden up. Ronnie really should lay low for a while if he expects to stay in this game much longer. And how come we barely got to see Kevin this week? Can’t a gay man get a break?
