Biggest Loser Couples: Helen Wins the Finale!
In the finale of “Biggest Loser Couples,” we saw a recap of the season that featured the heaviest (Daniel) the oldest (Jerry), the sickest (Ron), and the youngest (Mike). But, what I really wanted to find out was whether Mike or Ron would be in the finale!
Mike looked so thin when he came out, why did they feel the need to put him in a vertically stripped shirt? Ron came out and he looked like he had lost some more weight as well. But, who would be in the finale? After a bit of chit-chat, we found out that it would be Mike going up against Helen and Tara in the finale. Despite Ron’s sometimes shady actions, America decided to give Mike the shot at the $500,000.
America got to vote again – for either Erinn or Amanda – to be on next season’s “Biggest Loser.” But first, they had to go workout with Bob and Jillian, who promised one would go to the hospital and the other would go to the “Biggest Loser.” America eventually picked Amanda, but Erinn will get to use the Biggest Loser at home fitness program.
While those two were being worked out, we got to see the eliminated contestants. Estelle and Jerry looked good. I kind of want Helen to win – I’d like to see someone older whose metabolism has slowed down win the show for once. Nicole looked pretty and slim. Estelle had lost 83 pounds – wow! Jerry, who was so cute flexing his muscles, had lost 177 pounds – holy moly! That 64 year old man lost almost half of his former self – mostly at home. Take that you twenty somethings!
Damien looked worried – I don’t think he lost 182 pounds as Ali told him would have to have lost to beat Jerry. And he didn’t, but he lost 136 pounds – still great! His soon to be bride Nicole lost 123 pounds, just three pounds short of taking over Jerry. Even though she didn’t win, she was still glowing!
Next up was Sione, Filipe, Carla, and Joelle. Oh, Carla should not have worn the satin. She’s lost a lot of weight, but is still a bit hippy. Did Carla and Joelle make up? They shook hands on the show and said things between them were well. Sione and Filipe are doing an exercise class at the local high school for their Tongan family and friends. Sione lost 146 pounds and Filipe lost 135 pounds. Like Nicole, they were still really happy with their loss. Carla lost 128 pounds and Joelle lost 80 pounds.
Blaine, Dane, Mandi, and Aubrey were next. Hum, are they saving Daniel for last as Jerry’s only real competition? Blaine lost 116 pounds, Dane lost 154 pounds, Mandi lost 92 pounds, and Aubrey lost 55 pounds. She hadn’t lost any more weight since leaving the campus, but at least she was maintaining what she had lost, which is not too bad for a busy mom of 5.
The next four were Cathy, Kristin, David, and Daniel. Cathy lost 95 pounds, Kristin lost 167 (just barely losing out to Jerry), David (who never seemed really inspired) lost 43 pounds, and Daniel lost 142 pounds. Considering he almost couldn’t move at the beginning of the show that is incredible.
The last three contestants were Laura, who lost 86 pounds, Shanon, who lost 92 pounds, and Ron. I thought Ron might be able to take Jerry is anyone could, but he fell 14 pounds short, having lost 192 pounds. Jerry, who only spent two weeks on campus with the trainers, won – go Jerry, go Jerry, go Jerry!!!!!
Now, on to the finalist. We had already send Mike. Helen looked incredible and Tara looked awfully thin too. She even looked different in the fact, but again, they had her in a slimming outfit (don’t know why).
First up was Helen, who lost 140 pounds for a percentage of 54.47%. She lost more than half of her old self! Next up was Mike, who lost 207 pounds, but still didn’t beat Helen’s percentage (his was 53.35%). Hum, if Ron had let Mike go home, he would have beaten Jerry and won the $100,000. Last up was Tara. She needed to lose more than 160 and she only lost 155. WHAT? Helen weighs 117 and Tara weighs 139? That is incredible.
So, in the end, it turned out to the be the night of the old people with Helen winning the $500,000!
