Biggest Loser Couples: Jay Leaves and Mark Cries
Actually, my title is a bit misleading as Mark spent much of this episode crying. In fact, at one point, he was on the phone with his wife and she told him to toughen up!
The remaining contestants went to Australia, where Bob and Jillian are the trainers for Biggest Loser Australia. They got to sight see and met the winner of BLA season 1, Adro, who talked about how the finale is really the beginning of their lives.
For the challenge, the group had to hike to the top of the Sydney Harbor bridge, not an easy task for Mark who hates bridges. From there, they were told by Allison that they had to jump from a boat, swim 300 meters, run up stairs to a bike, ride through a path, and the go up 44 flights of stairs. The winner got a ride in a seaplane and dinner, but the best part was they got to take a guest. Ali started out strong, but of course, Mark overtook her. But once he got to the top of the roof, he sat down and waited on her. He told her he needed help and had her carry him across the finish line, so they both got the reward.
At the weigh-in, Jay shocked everyone when he gained a pound. Ali lost 3, Kelly lost 1, and Roger lost 2. When Mark weighed in, he had gained a pound too. But it seemed weird – Jillian’s last chance workout was intense while Bob’s was yoga. Hum. Anyhow, Mark and Jay were both under the line and through much crying, Jay told everyone to vote for him.
I think the contestants are not getting enough to eat or enough sleep or something, I have never seen contestants cry like this (or at least I don’t remember). I mean collectively, Mark and Jay have lost almost 200 pounds (for free I might add), got to see Australia (on NBC’s tab), etc., but they are still crying about him leaving.
Next week will be tough – Allison told them they will go back to the campus, but the trainers won’t.
