Biggest Loser Couples: Jerry Goes Home

Tonight’s Biggest Loser was filled with anger over Joelle not giving 100% and the contestants having to chose between two beloved contestants. Joelle was almost tempted to take the $25,000 temptation reward to leave the show, but decided to stay. My question is – she was talking about living at home with her mom, what kind of house can you buy in Michigan for $5,000? Anyhow, when Bob heard she was tempted, he wondered what her deal was. She even drove him to be “possessed by Jillian Michaels” as he said and scream the f-word at her many times when she kept giving up on the last chance workout. It was funny to see Jillian giggle at Bob losing it.

The challenge was to paddle a kayak from a yacht to shore, and then run up a hill. The first one up there got immunity and a phone call home. The second, third, and fourth place finishers also got phone calls home. It was neck and neck between Tara and Blaine with him leading most of the way, but she sprinted at the end and won. It was nice of her to give Filipe her phone call so he could talk to his wife. Also earning a phone call home was Helen and Mandi. Because he came in last, Daniel got a one pound penalty at the weigh-in. This poor kid is so huge, I was just proud of him for finishing! It was nice that everyone helped him up the last few feet of the hill.

At the weigh-in, I was a bit surprised to see Tara lose only one pound. I mean I know it is the dreaded week 2, but it was a good thing she had immunity! Mandi was worried that her 6 pound loss wouldn’t hold up, but it did – barely. The big losers this week were Blaine with 16 pounds and Dane with 14 pounds. Joelle only lost 2 pounds, but it was enough to save her this week. Poor Jerry only lost 1 pound and Daniel, who had to lose more than 3 pounds with the penalty to keep Joelle below the yellow line, only lost 3 pounds. Without the penalty, he would have been safe and everyone would have been more than happy to send Joelle home.

It was hard for the contestants to choose between Jerry, the oldest, and Daniel, the youngest. Both needed to be at the ranch, but like Ron said, Jerry was thin once and had a lot of support at home and Daniel had never been thin. So, the contestants decided to send Jerry home. I was so happy to see that Estella is down under 200 pounds now and Jerry has lost a total of 84 pounds so far. He looked so much better and younger with the weight loss.
