Biggest Loser Couples: Joelle and Carla are Eliminated
This week on Biggest Loser Couples, Sione proved to be superhuman while Joelle proved to be spacey (as usual). Sione returned to the ranch with a 25 pound weight loss in 30 days at home. For that, he won his team immunity this week. Aubrey only lost 2 pounds, but made up for it with a 10 pound loss at the weigh-in.
Sione even outworked Filipe in the gym, while Joelle just continued to mystify the other contestants. While Carla was working her butt off, Joelle seemed spacey – standing around like she didn’t know what to do. And it showed on the scales. While Carla lost 9 pounds, Joelle lost nothing, zero, zilch, zip. She kept saying she intensified her workout or something, but no one bought it. At one point, she said that Bob’s teams could save them if they fell below the yellow line, which they did. Also under the yellow line were Mike and Ron again.
But, Bob’s teams didn’t save Joelle. If they could have save Carla without Joelle, they all would have – the love for Carla in the room was as obvious as the disgust for Joelle. After they were voted off, everyone hugged Carla and told her how much they loved her while Joelle just stood alone in the background. It was kind of sad, but Joelle was just so strange with her replies when anyone questioned whether she really wanted to be there or not.
Things got even weirder after the show. Carla and Joelle didn’t speak to each other for months after being eliminated. When they finally got together on camera, Joelle did the polite chit chat then asked Carla about her loss. Carla stopped her in her tracks and asked her if she realized why she was upset with her. Joelle, who admitted she was humiliated when she left the campus, said she didn’t want to rehash it again. She is still SO clueless! Carla said something about how they were friends and Joelle said “No we are not.” Carla said she guessed they never were and Joelle walked out. She had lost a bit more weight – she’s lost a total of 57 while Carla has lost a total of 87.
Frankly, I liked Carla and like all the other contestants, I was sorry she had a partner who was not committed, but I am glad Joelle is gone. They kept giving her chances and giving her chances and other than last week, when I thought she had finally gotten her butt in gear, she has done nothing but disappoint everyone (especially Carla and Bob!).

I felt so bad for Carla. I was crying and yelling at the TV at Joelle for her lacksidiscal responses and behavior. She totally did not get the fact that they are a team. Joelle did not push herself enough to get results. She is quite clueless. And that is sad for someone her age who does not get the fact that they are on a great show and the opportunity she was given to make a difference for not just herself but many African-American women who are looking in the mirror and seeing the need to lose weight. Carla got it. That is why she is fabulous and I hope she loses the most and can win the $100,000. GO CARLA!! I wish I could have been your partner.
