Biggest Loser Couples: Mark is Eliminated

For the Blue Team, tonight was the best of times and the worst of times. They started out going on a trip to Vegas. As Biggest Loser Player of the Week, Jay got to chose a reward. All the cards were marked with a question mark, so he chose the third one. It was an overnight trip to Vegas for the whole team. They were all excited, but Bob cautioned them to stay away from the buffets and workout. The Dan Cam recorded them working out at the gym and gambling at the Planet Hollywood Casino. Oh yeah, and riding the Big Shot at the Stratosphere. They even got “pride” tattoos, although each of them added their own spin on it. The only problem was Dan and Roger stayed out all night, while Mark and Jay turned in early so they could wake up early and workout.

The reward challenge was for a trip to Puerto Rico. Each winning team member won two tickets, so they could take a loved one. The challenge was to run an obstacle course. They had to flip a tractor tire 10 times, move a ton a sandbags, carry 12 medicine balls under a rope, and run a ½ mile. The Blue Team won easily, but Kelly felt better that her team helped her cross the finish line.

At the weigh-in, everyone was nervous. The Black Team was up first and they all put up big numbers…for them. Bernie lost 10, Kelly lost 6, Maggie lost 8 and Brittany lost 6. The Blue Team needed to lose a total of 34 pounds. Dan lost 7, Roger lost 8, Jay lost 7, which means Mark had to lose 12 pounds. He didn’t even come close. At 202, he only lost 1 pound, so the Blue Team had to eliminate someone.

When Trent went home, Mark said if he didn’t have any more weight to lose, he’d take one for the team. But, now he was saying he had more to lose. Dan was safe and everyone knew Mark and Jay wouldn’t vote for each other, so Roger was the obvious target. He kept telling Mark he wanted him to be a man of his word. Mark resisted at first, saying he had more to lose and he didn’t want to leave Jay, but after many, many tears, he realized his foot would hinder him. He relented and told everyone to vote for him. I’ve never seen men cry so much on a reality show, but like my husband said – they were functioning as a real team and working things out. Mark asked Roger to look after Jay as if he was his brother and after many goodbyes, Mark left. He lost another 7 when he got home.
