Biggest Loser: Ron and Mike Fall Below the Yellow Line
The “Biggest Loser” ranch was quiet this week as the contestants went home to live the life of normal people again. We got to see the hoopla homecoming celebrations. Then the contestants expressed concern and remorse. Mike feared falling back into his fast food habit while Helen was ashamed when she raided her wardrobe. Ron knows that his weight affected both his sons and has promised to help Max lose weight and both he and Mike keep it off.
Mike complained about being hungry all the time and Tara missed Jillian. Tara gave her $25,000 kitchen prize to her mother, which was actually a bit weird for me because it looked like her mother had a pretty nice kitchen to begin with. She got new appliances and granite counter tops. Oh well, mom was happy.
Everyone got a Biggest Loser package at their doorstep. It was a DVD that said “Play me.” Allison told them they have one more major accomplishment – run a marathon of 26.2 miles. They all freaked out when they realized they had to only 26 days to train. But fear not, Jillian and Bob came for visits. Bob even worked out Max.
Everyone trained, but Mike hurt his hip four days before the marathon. He was upset that the doctors told him he couldn’t run. Neither could Ron with his bad knees. But, friends and family and even past winners such as Ali, Michelle, and Bernie joined the contestants on their trek. Tara finished first, with Jillian running the last mile with her. Helen finished second and Mike finished third.
Everyone was waiting for Ron, but then they cut to him getting a medical checkup. He wasn’t getting blood to his hands and he was shaky. Bob didn’t think his doing the marathon was a good idea. Ron decided to finish the marathon, where Jim, Michelle, Heba, Ali, and Bernie were waiting on him. At mile 21, Bob and Mike joined the group. It was dark by the time he made it to mile 22, but he began limping. But, after 13+ hours, he finally finished.
However, it was not all good news for Mike and Ron tonight. At the weigh-in, both fell below the yellow line. I mean, come on, isn’t this what the show has been building up to the entire season? Both fall below the line and you know Ron is going to beg America to put Mike in the top 3.
But, will America cooperate? Last year, Ed pleaded for America to put Heba in the finals and America said “Eh, no.” But, will they find the love of a father for his child much more compelling? We won’t know until next week’s finale.
