Bittersweet elimination on DWTS: Marlee Matlin goes home
Marlee was the star eliminated tonight, and while her footwork was the best of all the celebrity performers in all her dances, her hearing loss made it almost impossible for her to keep the beat of the music. Fabian was extraordinary in the choreography, and Marlee was great in her presentation, but she was more often than not, off the beat of the music. Her elimination was not unexpected, but was bittersweet; and my wasn’t she the great lady in her swan song.
Did anybody beside me notice the look of utter relief on Mark’s face when he and Kristi were saved? Don’t forget it was at this juncture last year, when he and Sabrina, who was one great dancer were eliminated. In fact, it seemed as though all the stars were relieved to last another week. Next week they are going to have to learn two dances, and then the fun will start.
Len was absolutely right on when he said that ballroom dancing in America has a great future. The two 13 and under couples were amazing.
I have to comment on the remarks made by Shannon, poor baby, and her Lochinvar, Derek, when they took the judging to task for last night’s performance. Grow up. Well, they did sort of apologize, but come on, aren’t we a diva.
This week’s entertainment, was Ashlee Simpson, nice rock. Her dancers need to work on their unison. Riverdance- what can I say - it’s Riverdance - not Michael Flatley dancing, but Riverdance none the less. Just how many shows can ABC promote in one hour? I think I’ll count next week and let you know.
