Bradley is kicked off Project Runway
Tonight the designers were given the challenge of making over a fashion icon. Yet again the designers had the opportunity to work with a different model, but it was the models who got to choose what designer they wanted to work with. I don’t remember any time in the last season where anyone except the winner of the previous week’s challenge was given the opportunity to select a different model. Maybe it’s Project Runway’s way of trying to keep things fresh.
The models were also given the task of selecting the fashion icon to be made over. Overall the models did a really good job of selecting an icon that would allow the designer to show of his or her best work. Except for Bradley’s model. She got the icon who was left over – Cher. Why someone would not want to choose Cher is beyond me. She was always creating a fashion statement in her heyday and didn’t Bob Mackie design her costumes and dresses for her?
Kayne and Michael were the top two designers. Kayne modernized Marilyn Monroe while Michael did the same for Pam Grier. In the end it was Michael who won the challenge, and he and his model will be featured in a print ad for Tressome.
The final two came down to Michael (again) and Bradley. The judges thought Michael’s designs to date have been boring but they thought he had talent so they let him go to the next challenge. You just knew that it would be a matter of time before Bradley got kicked off the show. He reminded me of a throwback from the 60’s, a hippie-type of person. He just seemed to be too spacy and disorganized to compete against the other designers. And the competitive nature of the designers is really beginning to show. Not that it wasn’t competitive already; I just think that the honeymoon period for the designers is over and now we’re starting to get a glimpse into their real selves.
