Brides are coming to MTV on New Year’s Day
Check out MTV on New Year’s Day at 1 pm for “Engaged & Underage: The Bridal Bowl.” The four hour bridal special follows four couples down the aisle including their before marriage lives, live commentary from their family and friends, and finally, their big day.
The first hour features 21 year old Stephanie and 22 year old Adam of Kearney, NE who not only work two jobs each, but are also full time students. The second hour features 21 year old Elizabeth and 22 year old Amadeus of Arlington, TX. Elizabeth and Amadeus have been dating since they were 14 and despite their family’s disapproval, are ready to finally take the big step. The third hour showcases the romance of 21 year old Alessandra and 21 year old Jonathan from Sarasota, FL. These two met on MySpace, but their honeymoon bliss will be somewhat short lived as Jonathan deploys to Iraq in February 2009. The final hour features 19 year old Amanda and 20 year old Bradford of Sikesville, MD. Like Alessandra and Jonathan, Amanda and Bradford also have to deal with his being deployed on a naval aircraft carrier shortly after their wedding day.
The show will be hosted by “newlyweds” Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of “The Hills” along with Tim Kash and Kim Stoltz. Viewers also get a chance to win in the “Watch and Win” promotion. Starting at 1 pm, MTV will publish prize phone numbers and the ninth caller will win one of 24 fabulous prizes. At 5 pm exactly, one viewer will be given $5,000 in cash.
