Brooke Burke
Brooke Burke has hosted a reality show, but she will soon find herself as a reality show contestant – on the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars.” Brooke’s partner will be Derek Hough.
Brooke Burke was born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 8, 1971. She has nine siblings and is of Jewish, Irish, French, and Portuguese heritage. Brooke went to Palo Verde and Sahuaro High School in Tucson. After graduation, she attended UCLA, studying broadcast journalism. She signed with the Ford Models Agency to pursue a modeling career. She appeared in ads for Venus Swimwear and Frederick’s of Hollywood. Brooke was featured in commercials for Bally Fitness clubs, Coca-Cola, and Discover Card.
Her first exposure on television was as a reporter on “That’s Life.” She became the host of E!’s “Wild On!” travel series in 1999 and continued as host until 2002. After leaving “Wild On!” Brooke made guest appearances on “Rock Me, Baby.” “Monk,” “Less than Perfect,” and “It’s All Relative.” Brooke was chosen as the host of the CBS reality series “Rock Star” in 2005. The show ran for two seasons.
In 2004, Brooke made her big screen debut in the horror film “The Hazing.” That same year, she appeared in “Knuckle Sandwich.” She voiced the character of Rachel Teller in the video game “Need for Speed: Underground 2.” She was featured in an infomercial for a workout video called “Gunnar Peterson’s Core Secrets,” which aired in New Zealand and Australia.
Brooke appeared in Playboy magazine in May 2001 and November 2004. She was ranked #37 in Maxim magazine’s “Hot 100 of 2002” list and #94 in its “Hot 100 of 2006” list. Brooke was ranked #99 on FHM’s “Sexiest Girls of 2001” list, #24 in its “Sexiest Girls of 2002” list, #23 in its “100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005” list, and #53 in its “100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006” list. Also in 2005, she was featured as FHM’s pin-up calendar. Brook was ranked #10 in Stuff magazine’s “102 Sexiest Women in the World 2002” list. She was listed as one of the hottest women of film and television by Blender magazine.
Brooke started her own company, titled Baboosh Baby, in 2007. The company sells belly wraps, oil to prevent stretch marks, belt buckles, diaper bags, and baby slings. Brooke also blogs there about her experiences as a mother.
Brooke was married to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher from 2001 until 2006. The couple has two daughters, Neriah, age 8, and Sierra Sky, age 6. Brooke became engaged to actor/singer David Charvet in late 2006. The couple has two children, daughter Heaven Rain, 20 months, and son Shaya Braven, six months.
