“But I Don’t Want to Sell My House!”

Tonight’s show was a bit of depressing for both realtors.  Scotty got a friend to put his house up because he lost a best on an NBA game.  Only problem was David’s wife Jillian didn’t want to sell their house.  They put it up for $5 million, although that was a bit high.  Scotty tried to interest them in another house, which David loved and thought Jillian would like too.  Only problem was Jillian didn’t even want to look at it.  She just didn’t want to leave her home.  Scotty decided they needed to take the house off the market after talking to Jillian.  David didn’t want to break their deal, so Scotty said if he made a basket, they got to do what he wanted.  It was nothing but net, so the house was taken off.  Scotty lost a potential $125,000 commission, but kept his friendship with David and Jillian.

Chase was in Hollywood on his first listing.  Ray, his father-in-law, went along, but it didn’t seem Chase appreciated it much.  The house was in Miracle Mile and was nice.  The owner, Mina, had bought it 18 years ago for $260,000.  The potential buyer, Tino, was very high maintenance.  He came in at $40,000 under the asking price of $999,000.  Mina would only budge to $990,000.  Tino accepted that but intended on getting a lot of his money back after the inspections.  He asked for $55,000 off due to problems found during the inspection, which was ridiculous.  Mina said she’d give him $10,000.  Tino finally said he’d accept no less than $30,000.  Mina countered with $17,000, saying that was her final offer.  Tino got his realtor, Christine, to give up $5,000 of her commission and asked Chase to give up $8,500 of his.  He wanted Christine to split the $3,500 difference, but Tino said no.  Chase finally relented and lost the $8,500 off his commission.  His final commission was $17,690.  Mina made a profit of $719,000 on the house.
