Bye, Bye Wayne Newton - DWTS fans will miss you
After waiting and waiting and waiting and suffering through endless promos from ABC about the new shows(which by the way are not good at all) finally DWTS got down to business and announced the departure of Wayne Newton. This was not unexpected; although his fan base is phenomenal, he is an institution, his dancing was abominable. Even being partnered with two-time winner Cheryl, couldn’t do too much for him.
That said, the show itself just drags and drags and drags. How many promos and how many commercials must we suffer! Next week I am going to count both. It’s nice to have musical guests; but the show is called Dancing With The Stars, not Rehashing and Promoting With the Stars. In all fairness it was a pleasure seeing the ABC Hannah Montana daughter and father combo (Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus) perform; and if they just let Seal singing without the pole dancing background dancers it would have been better.
I’m going to miss the insight of Drew Lachey as co-host. While Samantha Evans provides eye candy, Drew was there as a competitor. Next week, if I heard right, it’s going to be the Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz. How do you think Jennie, Cameron, Mark and Floyd will mutilate these dances?
