Can anybody say “Kelly Monaco”?
That was the deja vu I got when the judges gave their critique of Josie Marin ( whose partner, by the way was Alec Mazo, Kelly’s partner). Sad to say, I think they were right. When Kelly was the dancer, it was the first season, and no one expected too much; but now we are in season five, and if you’re going to compete, you should be able to move at least. My money is on Josie being the first eliminated.
The dancers to beat are the Spice and Cheetah girls, boy did they do some great work. Both have to tone down the Hip-Hop approach to dancing, but with a little bit of work these are the dancers to beat.
Jennie Garth started off the competition and she did a nice job. She was nervous and needs a lot of work on her footwork, but that will come. Derek Hough is a fine partner for her.
What can you say about Marie Osmond and Jane Seymour. Their stage presence was out front and both ladies know how to sell a performance. Because of her fan base, Marie will probably stay in the competition for a while, but working an audience doesn’t always win, ask George Hamilton. Jane and Tony did a lot of side by side footwork, which is not the most difficult way to do a fox trot, but like Marie, she can sell a performance.
Tomorrow, the men. Well, they have done a lot of posturing, let’s see them put their footwork where their mouths are!
Drew Lachey did a stellar job filling in for mommy Samantha, nice to have someone there who has actually “been there”. Hey, ABC, just how many shows are you going to promote?

I agree that Drew Lachey did a great job. I loved how Tom Bergeron kept calling him names like Samantha Harris’ understudy! Personally I loved Sabrina Bryan and the hip hop attitude – it worked really well with the lyrics on the song.
