The wait is over - this morning, Tom Bergeron announced the Season 7 (Maksim is back!) cast of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, which will premiere on September 22, 2008:

This would have been a first for not only Dancing with the Stars and reality television overall and I’m so sorry it’s not going to happen.
Former vice president Dan Quayle was invited to be a contestant on season 7 of the show but told Access Hollywood that he declined the invitation.
