Chad leaves the competition on Grease: You’re the one that I want
It’s the semi finals tonight on Grease: You’re the One that I Want and the competition is downright fierce. Tonight was elimination night for the guys, and Austin and Chad were in the bottom two. I personally was surprised that Austin was the lowest vote getter because he is such a performer. He looks really prepared and polished on stage while Derek and Max are kind of rough around the edges. Chad to me was just there. I really didn’t have any opinion about him one way or the other. I wasn’t sad or happy to see him leave the show.
Austin really brought his game tonight. I think the fact that he was in the bottom two was a scare for him and when he sang the Elvis classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love” he became my number 1 pick for Danny (yes, even over Max). Austin finally let down that barrier and let us see some emotion – not much, but some. If he could just become a little more real and a little less professional I think he would have the role wrapped up easily. And the judges agreed with me tonight, as David and Jim said Austin was their pick for Danny.
Laura is by far the top contender for Sandy. So what that she doesn’t have blonde hair? She brings it to the stage every week. This week again all three of the judges called her their choice for Sandy.
Now it’ll be interesting to see how the fans vote. We’ve always heard who was in the bottom two and the lowest vote getter, but we’ve never heard who got the most votes. It should be interesting, that’s for sure!
