Chuck Liddell eliminated in week 4 of Dancing With The Stars
The recap show for week 4 of Dancing With The Stars started, as always, with the recap of last night’s show. Since I missed the first hour last night I appreciated the recap for once. It was followed by the encore performance. Len said they wanted to see the routine that gave them the three e’s – excitement, energy and entertainment. It was the Charleston performed by Melissa and Mark. I missed their performance last night but if it was as good as it was tonight they certainly deserved the 10.
Shakira performed next, “Did it Again” from her new album. I was kind of disappointed she didn’t perform She Wolf. Wouldn’t that have been an act of genius in terms of cross promotion by ABC? That’s the song that’s been playing on the promos for Desperate Housewives. A review of the judges’ leader board is followed by the first elimination announcements. Mya and Dmitry and Melissa and Mark are safe, while Aaron and Karina are in the bottom two.
Following the commercial break is a performance by six of the pro dancers that featured the Argentine Tango and the Paso Doble (the two individual dances for next week’s show). It featured Dmitry, Alec, Louis, Cheryl, Karina and Edyta and was amazing. Some filler interviews until we get to hear what we are all here for. The next three couples who are safe are Kelly and Louis, Natalie and Alec and Joanna and Derek. Tom points out that all the women are safe and that it’s a man who is going home tonight.
The elimination announcements continued right after the commercial break and we find out that Mark and Lacey and Michael and Anna are safe. There’s a bit about kids and the show (with the children of Mark, Michael, Chuck, and Melissa saying “vote for my dad” or “vote for my mom”). It’s followed by a performance by Shakira of the song “Hips Don’t Lie” and she did what I hate so many performers for doing – she brought her own dancers and didn’t feature the pros from the show. They could have really done a great performance to that song.
A stimulating (not) interview by Samantha is followed by a piece on how stressful it is to be on the show. Then we find out that Donny and Kym are safe. Off to commercials.
After finding out that Louie and Chelsie are safe we get the final elimination announcements. Chuck and Anna and Aaron and Karina are in the bottom two. In the end it was Chuck Liddell who was eliminated.
