We will find out if nice guys finish first when country star Clint Black appears in the upcoming season of “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Clint was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on February 4, 1962, but he grew up in Katy, Texas. He taught himself to play the harmonica, guitar, and bass guitar at age 13. Clint dropped out of high school to play in his brother’s band around the Houston nightclubs.

Clint began writing songs and playing with friend Hayden Nicholas and soon signed with ZZ Top manager Bill Ham. In 1989, Clint released Killin’ Time, his debut album. The album produced four number one hits on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The whole album shot to #1 in sales and Clint won the Country Music Association (CMA) Award Horizon Award that year.

The next year, Clint released Put Yourself in My Shoes. While not quite reaching the success Killin’ Time did, it did produce several hit songs. Clint won the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Award and the American Music Awards Favorite Male Country Artist Award.

Clint continued to release albums through the ‘90s, with singles like “Loving Blind,” When My Ship Comes In,” and “A Good Run of Bad Luck” going to #1 on the country charts. All in all, Clint has produced nine studio albums, two Christmas albums, and seven compilation albums. Both Killin’ Time and Put Yourself in My Shoes were certified 3x multi-platinum. He has also had four albums certified platinum and one certified gold. Of his forty-four singles released, almost two dozen went to #1. More than thirty of those singles have reached the charts.

Clint decided to give acting a shot when he made an appearance in 1994’s Maverick and 1998’s Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac. He has also made appearances on “Wings,” “King of the Hill,” “Hope and Faith,” “Las Vegas,” and “The Larry Sanders Show,” After he left RCA, he established his own recording label, Equity Music Group. He released his first digital EP, “The Long Cool EP,” in March 2008.

Clint made his first venture into reality television on the short-lived “Secret Talents of the Stars.” Clint was featured on the first episode, but the show was cancelled after its airing. On “Celebrity Apprentice,” Clint will be raising money for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

Clint married actress Lisa Hartman in 1991. The couple has one daughter, Lily Pearl, born in 2001. Clint and Lisa recorded the Grammy-nominated duet “When I Said I Do” in 1999. The song reached #1 on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and was ranked #11 in the 100 Greatest Duets in Country Music by CMT. In 2002, the pair recorded another duet, “Easy For Me to Say.” It reached #27 on the charts.
