Country Night on American Idol
Tonight’s American Idol was a bit painful for me. Taylor, my dear Taylor, started off the night was a lackluster version of Country Roads that none of the judges really liked. Mandisa singing Shania Twain was just weird. Simon called it horrible. They liked Elliott’s version of If Tomorrow Never Comes, but I didn’t. I thought he oversang it. Paris did a good job, with even Simon saying excellent choice of song. Ace still bores me, but he did well tonight. Kellie was good, but then it was country night. Chris was good and I liked Katharine’s performance, even though Simon thought the song was peculiar. Bucky ended the show on a good note but overall, the songs were boring. None of the women attempted Patsy Cline and the one man that attempted Garth Brooks (Elliott) kinda sucked. So thank God country night is over. I have no idea who is going home, but I hope it isn’t Taylor (although his performance prompted me to vote for him for the first time – five times actually!).
And what was the whole “I love you Ryan” thing about? Was Paula drunk again? She acts so strange at times, but I guess they producers are fine with it – her contract was just renewed for another three years.
