Cristian de la Fuente
Cristian de la Fuente has been named a contestant on the sixth season of ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars.” The handsome Chilean actor will be partnered with two-time winner Cheryl Burke.
Cristian was born on March 10, 1974 in Santiago, Chile. A talent scout noticed him while Cristian was studying civil engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Cristian began acting and appeared on several television series including “Champana,” “Soltero a la medida,” Amor esta de mode, El,” “Marron Glace, el regreso,” “Eclipse de luna,” and “Reyes y Rey,” a remake of “Starsky and Hutch.” In 1999, he made a guest appearance on an episode of “Pensacola: Wings of Gold.” He appeared in four episodes of “Family Law” and two episodes of “Queen of Swords.”
In 2003, Cristian appeared in six episodes of “CSI: Miami” as the character Sam Belmontes. He followed that up with three episodes of “One on One” and seven episodes as Aaron in “The Class.” He has also appeared as Rodrigo Veloso in episodes of “Ugly Betty.” Cristian has been in many films including Driven (with Sylvester Stallone) and Vampires: Los Muertos (with Jon Bon Jovi).
Cristian has hosted the MGM’s Road to the Oscars for Latin America as well as the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade. He has been a presenter at the Latin Billboard Awards, the World Music Awards, and the Alma Awards.
Cristian is married actress Angelica Castro in January 2000 and the couple has one child. Cristian is a licensed pilot and is an officer in the Chilean Air Force reserves.
