Dance War: Charity (from Team Bruno) Leaves
The voting was over, but the kids are still performing for their lives. Tonight celebrated the music of Motown and R&B. Everyone performed to “Land of 1,000 Dances,” which gave me a bit of an “American Graffiti Live” feel.
Bruno promised demanding numbers and Carrie Ann promised her team would do a little old school and a little new school. Bruno’s team did “Think” by Aretha Franklin with Lacey singing lead for the first song. She did well, but Carrie Ann felt she was not singing into the mic, even though it was just a prop. She also thought the team was out of balance. Team Carrie Ann performed “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” – I loved the step routine, as did the audience. All Bruno could say was that they needed to be tighter.
For their second performance, Team Bruno did “Caught Up.” Carrie Ann said it was pitchy in a few spots, but considering all the dancing they had to do, they did well. Team Carrie Ann performed “Upside Down” for their second number. Bruno again said they needed to be tighter – can he think of nothing different to say?
Of course, the ending was dragged out. We found out it was Team Bruno on the bottom of the voting and he had to send someone home. However, rather than just pick that someone, he had to pick everyone he wanted to keep and tell us why. This could be a 30-minute show if it wasn’t for all the drama. It came down to Charity and Kelsey, with Kelsey being sent home.
