Dance War: Let The Competition Begin!

Tonight, we saw a bit more of behind the scenes as the show recapped last week’s episode in which the teams were picked. In case you forgot, Team Bruno is Charity, Kelsey, Lacey, Phillip, Tony and Zack and Team Carrie Ann is Allysa, Bradley, Chris, Elizabeth, Mariel and Qis. Just for the record, Bruno thinks he has stronger male vocals, but thinks Carrie Ann has stronger female vocals. With Mariel on her team? You think Bruno?

Bruno may think he has the stronger male vocals, but he already started out with problems. Apparently, Philip is so untrained that he damaged his voice. Bruno brought in vocal trainer Mauli, but it may have been too late! Team Bruno did take the stage, Philip included, with Elvis’ “A Little Less Conversation.” Bruno did admit that his worries about Philip’s voice were unfounded. While he wasn’t as strong as others (namely Zach and Tony), he was able to hold his own.

Carrie Ann was impressed with the performance, but stressed that her team was going in an entirely different direction. Carrie Ann handed her team song lyrics last week when she selected them, but when she tested them, they failed for the most part. Carrie Ann whipped them into shape and they performed “Run It,” not without some technical difficulties for Chris. Carrie Ann was still happy and Bruno applauded Chris for carrying on the performance, despite the problems. But, then he started trash talking, saying the dance of the routine was not the best. Carrie Ann defended her team and said each week, they will go in a different direction. I don’t know if that sounds like such a good idea, but what do I know?

For the second performances, Carrie Ann criticized Bruno, saying the team sounded more like a chorus, with no one really stepping up to take the vocals. For the second Team Carrie Ann performance, Mariel proved she had the pipes – as if we needed proof again!

Now, it is up to the viewers to vote for their favorite team. Next week, either Bruno or Carrie Ann will be forced to send one of their kids home. This might really bring the gloves out now!
