Dance Wars: Team Bruno is Victorious!
Was I the only one that thought this was the longest finale in the history of reality shows? After the recap, we saw Drew perform with both teams to “Stepping Out.” Although Drew sang about a top hat, I noticed he didn’t have one. How come Bruno the stickler for details didn’t point that out?
Team Bruno performed “These Boots Are Made for Walking”…again. Honestly, is Nancy Sinatra an executive producer of this show or what? Yes, I like the song, but enough is enough! Team Carrie Ann performed to “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” Next up was the team’s new singles. Team Bruno sang “Falling in Love” and Team Carrie Ann sang “Come With It.” Both were okay, just okay in my opinion.
Between all this was the best part of the night – the announcement of the celebs on the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars:” Marlee Matlin (which should be interesting given she’s deaf), Penn Jillette (which should be interesting considering he is like 9 feet tall!), Marissa Jaret Winokur (Tony Award winner for “Hairspray”), Adam Carolla (you just know he isn’t going to last long), Kristi Yamaguchi (she should look funny standing next to Penn Jillette), Latin superstar Cristian de la Fuente (not Daisy’s brother I assume), Monica Seles, R&B singer Mario, Steve Guttenberg, NFL star (and apparent hunk) Jason Taylor, Shannon Elizabeth (how is she going to take time off the poker circuit?), and Priscilla Presley (who is starting to look mummified).
After much, much, much talking to the kids, Bruno, Carrie Ann, blah, blah, blah, we finally found out that Team Bruno was the winner and they get the Hollywood Records recording contract. Why am I thinking Taylor Hicks on this one?
