Dancing for Their Lives

Or at least dancing for the trophy is what finalists Mario and Emmitt were doing tonight.  The dancers had to do three dances – to the same song, their favorite of the season, and freestyle.  I loved that they both had to dance to “Sir Duke” – that is my favorite Stevie Wonder song!  I just wish they would quit dressing Emmitt like a clown.  I know they are trying to show off his arm muscles and there is nothing wrong with that, but the matching shirt and shoes just looks dumb to me.

Going into the final, it is a dead heat between Mario the Magnificent and the King of Cool, Emmitt Smith.  Both dancers garnered two scores of 30 last night while each also earned a 29 on one dance.  Bruno said Emmitt delivered the Mambo like a true professional, but Bruno said his second lift on the freestyle was not clean, so he was only awarded a 9.  Len mentioned Mario was on the wrong foot with his Samba, so he only got a 9 from Len for the first dance, but by the freestyle, he has Len saying, “If that dance was a film, you would win an Oscar.”

It is going to be a tough call, but with them tied, I still believe Mario will pull it off.
