Dancing with the Stars: Group Dance Night
Tonight on “Dancing with the Stars,” the contestants had to learn two dances – their couples’ dance and the group dance. Shawn had it particularly hard – because she was picking up some awards, she didn’t make it to the group dance practice.
Melissa and Tony dance the Argentine tango. Len said it was fantastic, but he thought he caught a glimpse of a blunder. I thought she messed up a bit on one of the leg moves, but I could be wrong. Bruno loved it so much he said he felt like he needed a drink. Their total score showed how good it was – a 29!
Lawrence and Edyta, with a lot of clothing in her outfit designed by her partner, did the waltz. Lawrence promised to be smooth and he was – at least for a football player. Bruno said it was a bit clumsy at times (there was one time Edyta almost hit him in the head), but Len called it elegant and tender. They got a score of 21.
Lil’ Kim and Derek were doing the rumba, so Derek tried to calm down her sexiness a bit, but he might have gone a bit too far. Carrie Ann felt it was understated, but underwhelming as well. Len loved it, but Bruno wanted Kim to be herself. Still, they got a good score – 26.
Chuck and Julianne did great on the samba. Len called it their best dance to date and Bruno got a little personal talking about Chuck “wanting it badly.” They scored a 27.
Ty and Chelsie resurrected themselves with the waltz. Bruno called it a bigger comeback than Mickey Rourke and their score showed it – a 29.
Shawn got her first 10 of the season as she and Mark did the cha cha. She was worried since she was so rushed and tired from the awards trips. Len said they got it exactly right and while he and Carrie Ann gave the couple a 9, Bruno gave them a 10 for a 28.
Gilles and Cheryl did the Viennese Waltz. Bruno called it glamorous and Len called it superb, but Carrie Ann cautioned Gilles to watch his posture a bit. They got a 27.
The ‘60s group dance was fun. I loved the outfits and the contestants’ original ‘60s dance moves were a hoot, especially Ty’s rodeo riding dance.

When I was watching Chuck and Julianne, for a fleeting moment, I could actually see Maks’ arm movements. Is there a chance for him? Chuck, I mean, Maks went bye bye with Denise.
