Dancing With the Stars is a two-part season finale
I was reading some news online and didn’t realize that the Dancing With The Stars finale is going to be over two nights – Thursday and Sunday. I guess ABC is doing everything they can to milk every ounce of publicity and ratings from the finale. On Thursday during the second hour (9:00 p.m. Eastern) the couples will perform two dances – their “best” dance from the previous episodes and a freestyle dance. The audience will get to vote after Thursday night’s show (counting for 50% of the final score), and the judge’s scores from Thursday will count for 25% of the final score. On Sunday the three remaining couples will perform a dance based on their favorite discipline (whatever that means) during the first hour (8:00 p.m. Eastern). The judge’s scores of that performance will count for 25% of the final score. The couple ending up in third place will be announced at the end of the first hour. The previously eliminated celebrities will come back and perform their favorite dances. Mary J. Blige is going to be the live performer. Finally, at the end of the second hour we’ll find out who is crowned champion of “Dancing With The Stars”. The only thing that stinks about Thursday (for me, at least) is that it is going to be on against the Ladies’ figure skating final from the Olympics. I guess that’s why they created Tivo!
