Dancing With The Stars Week 3: not my favorite week for sure
I’m probably the only person in America who watched Dancing With The Stars this evening who’s going to say the following statement: I’m confused. Now I’ll be honest and admit I did not see the show live – gotta love the TiVo – so maybe my enthusiasm was lacking. You know, just let me get through the show and see it all. But I’m confused. Here’s why.
I don’t think that I’ve ever seen so many 9’s given out for performances, especially early in the season. Sabrina and Mark; Mel B and Maks; and Jane and Tony got 9’s straight across the board from the judges. Marie and Jonathan were just slightly behind, with Len being the fly in the ointment yet again giving them an 8. Jennie and Derek also had two scores of 9 with Len giving the 8. I wonder if he enjoys being the crabby old judge.
I’m also confused as to how Karina and Floyd could have only gotten a score of 21 while Mark and Kym got a 20. I thought the two performances were like night and day, and perhaps Floyd is being punished for practicing in sneakers instead of dance shoes. I’d bet money on the fact that we’ll see him in rehearsals wearing ballroom shoes next week.
I don’t know how the judges could have given Helio and Julianne only a score of 24. I’m so afraid that they’re not going to do well in the fan voting because how many Indy car fans do you think really watch the show?
I’ve also come to the conclusion that I don’t like the Tango. It’s just boring, boring, boring. Plus the music selections, like “The Beat Goes On” and I’m going to swear that the song Jane and Tony performed to sounded like a different arrangement of the “Love Boat” theme.
It’s going to be tough for the judges to decide who will do the encore performance tomorrow night but my money is on Jane and Tony. She did really pull it out in what has to be an extremely difficult week for her.

I have to agree with you about the music. I wish there were someone we could speak with who would influence the musical selections. The Tango, however, when done properly is one magnificent dance.
