Dane Admits Marathon Mistake
Dane Patterson, “Biggest Loser” producers, and NBC have admitted that the clip from last week’s show in which Dane said he completed a 26 mile marathon in 3 hours and 53 minutes was inaccurate.
Dane said at the 17 mile mark of the marathon, he realized he couldn’t finish, so he got a ride from a field producer. He rode three miles before getting out and running the rest of the way. He said in his statement that later that day, he went and ran the three miles he rode. I guess in his mind, he did complete the marathon.
One of the show’s producers, Reveille, released a statement saying that they wanted to make an official apology and set the record straight that Dane did not complete the marathon. NBC statement said in part “Because the segment as aired was contrary to NBC policy, we are working with the program producers to determine how this occurred, and to ensure that corrective action is taken.”
