Denise Richards eliminated from Dancing With The Stars
I think that the novelty of my liking the Dancing With The Stars results show might have worn off. We start the show with a recap of last night. By my clock it lasted about five minutes. Five minutes. After the recap we go to the first elimination announcements – Melissa and Tony, Gilles and Cheryl, Shawn and Mark and Steve and Karina are safe. Karina let out this squeal when their names were announced. I really think the viewers are going to pull for Steve, especially after how rotten the judges were to him last night. Last week he was in the dance off, and this week he’s not even in the bottom two. I guess my votes actually made a difference last night. Yes, I voted for Steve, mainly because of how nasty the judges were, and because he is a nice guy.
After the commercial break we get a backstage interview with the four celebrities who are safe. Ho hum. Next up, an elimination announcement. Lawrence and Edyta, David and Kym, Chuck and Julianne and Lil’ Kim and Derek are safe.
We find out two things tonight. Next week will be a double elimination. Does that mean that the bottom four couples will dance? And we find out that there will be two new dances next week – the Lindy Hop and the Argentine Tango. Corky Ballas and Cloris Leachman demonstrate them for us in a comedy skit. Not too bad, but not the greatest either. Hall and Oats perform their hit “Maneater” next, featuring pros Karina, Maks, Tony and Dmitry. A great performance by the pros, as always.
After commercial Adele performs, accompanied by Alec and Edyta. Again, a great performance by the DWTS pros. There’s a bit about what the stars think about the dance off (and the sarcastic person in me is thinking what do you really want them to say – it sucks to have to be in the dance off) and then the final elimination announcements. We find out that Holly and Dmitry and Denise and Maks are in the bottom two and will compete in the dance off. Now I’m glad that Steve-O is safe. Not because he’s my favorite, but because it appears he re-injured himself last night and I would hate to see him have to try and save himself while dancing in pain.
Holly and Dmitry were up first in the dance off. I thought their Samba was better than last night. The judges were more positive in their tone towards Holly, and considering how nasty they were overall last night that’s not saying much. Bruno and Len commented on her hotness, while Carrie Ann said she was happy that she kept her foot on the ground tonight. They did score one better than last night, getting 18 out of 30. I was happy to see Dmitry apologize about his comments about Holly last night ( I think he said something to the effect of it was not easy to work with her.) He said it came off wrong and he didn’t mean it that way. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he didn’t realize that it’s not always what you say, it’s how you say it. He’s young and new to the show – he will learn from his mistakes.
Denise and Maks performed their Samba second. Denise seemed more comfortable than last night. The judges thought she improved leaps and bounds from last night. Carrie Ann said she performed well under pressure while Len said she proved she deserves to be in the competition based on her performance last night. They got 20 out of 30 tonight.
In the end it was Denise Richards who was eliminated. I bet the judges are ticked, because they really seemed to like her and not like Holly. Oh well, Holly and Steve are back so the judges have their punching bags ready for next week.

Her name is Lacey, not Karina…

Where did you see this error?

I didn’t mention Lacey in this post. Karina was the one who danced to “Maneater” because Tom Bergeron joked that it was good that she picked Maks in the end.
