Disappointing night on American Idol
Tonight was, as Simon would say, “mostly appalling.” It started out bad and really never got any better. Almost everyone heard “wrong song choice,” “just okay,” or “not great.” Even my favorite, Taylor, was just okay. Even Paula, who usually finds something nice to say about everyone, was not feeling many of the performances tonight. I honestly cannot say who will be voted off, although my choice would probably be Lisa. I only say Lisa because, having been in the bottow three the last two weeks, I just don’t think she has the fan base that will save her another week.
That being said, on to juicier stuff. Did you notice that Chris gave credit for last week’s performance of “Walk the Line” to the band Live? Did you wonder why? Well, wonder no more. There has been a big brouhaha on the Internet about Chris’ original version of “Walk the Line.” Apparently, it wasn’t very original, closely resembling Live’s version off the Good Rockin Tonight album. Many people on forums were saying Chris should be disqualified for taking credit for something he really didn’t do. And some were saying the judges, supposed musical experts, should have been aware of the Live version and not praised Chris for being original. It looks like after him mentioning it tonight, it will all blow over, but I guess we will see…
