Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke champs on Dancing With The Stars
Tonight in a long, drawn out, over-dramatic and anti-climactic two hour Dancing With The Stars grand finale Drew Lacey and Cheryl Burke were crowned champions. The final two couples were Drew and Cheryl and Jerry Rice and Anna Trebunskaya. Who, in the first few shows of this season, would have thought that Jerry Rice would be a contender for the title? While I have become a Jerry fan over the past few weeks I would not have thought he would content for the title. I was truly shocked tonight when Stacy Keibler finished in third place. That one I didn’t expect.
I think I might have used all my adjectives to describe tonight’s show in the first sentence of this entry but I’ll try my best to add some originality to this paragraph. I love Dancing With the Stars. I am a borderline Dancing With The Stars geek. Tonight, however, I thought was a waste of time. How many times do we need to go down memory lane with our couples? Wasn’t that the entire first hour of Thursday night’s show? ABC was truly doing whatever they possibly could to draw viewers and get ratings. I think in their effort to produce a ratings spectacular they bored people out of their minds. Five minute commercial breaks. Three or four retrospectives for each of the final couples. And the interviews of the stars who were already kicked off the show asking for their favorite memory? Didn’t they do that in the video retrospective? Hello. Can you say time filler?
Don’t let my sour entry betray the fact that I love Dancing With The Stars and if it were on every evening I would watch it. I tape each episode on my Tivo so I can go back and watch the dances at least one more time. Now I can’t wait to see when the next season will begin – I hope it’s in the summer again because I don’t want to wait until September to get my fix. Hint, hint ABC. Give us more Dancing With The Stars!!!!!
