DWTS: 21 is the number of the day
21 seems to be the “magic” number, because 5 of the 11 couples got exactly that score tonight. At the introduction, was it me, or were the professional ladies showing more skin than usual? And where on earth did Cheryl get that hat?
Let’s talk quickstep. It is a difficult dance, but when done properly is so great. Sabrina and Mark did the absolute best quickstep of the night, that girl is going a long way on this show. (As an aside, Mark kind of looks like a younger version of Dana Delany’s husband on Desperate Housewives.) Melanie and Maks also did a fantastic quickstep as did Albert and Anna and Jennie and Derek. I finally realized why Cheryl wore that hat, it was to draw attention away from the not-too-good Wayne Newton quickstep; didn’t work. Wayne is a marvelous entertainer, nuff said. Too bad Albert doesn’t have Wayne’s fan base, because that is what Albert needs to take him further into the competition. Floyd is improving, his footwork was very good, but his posture needs mucho work. I think he tries too hard. Jennie and Derek did a nice job until the end, when he almost knocked her over. My money is on Sabrina for this quickstep performance.
Mambo, Latin, Fun, Exotic and even sometimes “ladylike” as Jane Seymour showed us. Her mambo was textbook without the sleeze. Marie, you’ve got to love her! She is a 1st class performer and not a bad mambo dancer either! Her brothers liked it and so did the audience, she got a standing O. Cameron looks great, but he has to let himself go a little bit. Mark Cuban, nice guy, fantastic businessman, maybe he can buy a ballroom dance franchise and open a chain of studios; but somebody else has to teach the dances. I think he’s the one out this week. Saving the best of the night for last, wow that Helio can really put it together and perform almost like a pro. He and Sabrina are my choices for the finals.
(Finally, was it me or did Carrie look extremely out of sorts. When she wasn’t aware of the camera on her, she looked like she swallowed something very unpleasant.)
