DWTS: and then there were five
In order of tonight’s appearance: Jennie and Derek – Well, her Jolly Green Giant’s little sister costume looked fine, so did the outfit she wore for the fox trot; her dancing, however, is another story. Now that with the help of Richard Simmons she has all her “confidence”, she needs to find her “posture”. Sorry, Jennie, your dancing has really not progressed, you seem to be somehow disconnected, and it is time to go home.
Cameron and Edyta – It was very hard to appreciate the performance of the waltz when the music is soooooo horrible. How many times do I have to say get waltz music for a waltz? Music aside, their waltz was excellent. I was rather disappointed in the cha cha, I expected lots more from him, and I do have to agree with the judges that he needs to work on his transitions. Get with it Edyta, you want to win don’t you!
Marie and Jonathan – I really thought the rumba was right on. Her performance was excellent, the woman is a performer. She is a pleasure to watch and Honky Tonk jive was top notch, for her. I say that, because Marie and Jennie are in my opinion the next two to leave. She puts 10 times more enjoyment in her performances that a lot of the others.
Helio and Julianne – Hello! his paso doble was his best dance yet. Perfect posture, poise and precision. Way to go. That team Helio isn’t too shabby either. How about that quickstep in spats, shades of Guys and Dolls. It was exciting and effortless, worthy of 10s all around.
Mel and Maks – Although her tango was excellent, her mambo was not one of her best dances. When she’s good, she is very very good; and when she’s not she covers it up very nicely. Bruno called her a really “Scary Spice”; I think she is a very focused spice.
Mel and Helio are the ones to beat. At least that what it looks like. Who knows, it is the general public who really chooses. Vote!
