DWTS: Fire the person who picks the music

ABC, do us all a favor and get rid of the person or persons who selects music for DWTS.  Who does pick out the music?  The Tango is a beautiful dance, but you can’t appreciate the intricacy of the dance when the music is not Latin.  Case in point, the dance Helio and Julianne did tonight; the dancing was excellent, but the music was so distracting it was, I feel, the cause of their “low” score.  And the Viennese Waltz, please, use waltz music, I think you can find it in the music store; I bet the orchestra can even play a waltz or a tango.  Why don’t you let the audience experience the dances in their original musical form!

Wasn’t Marie great?  I think Donny might be correct when he says that she’s one to beat.  The “Stagedoor Canteen” type routine that she and Jonathan did to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy was entertainment at its best.  What a great performance Marie did with her cha-cha.  The woman is an entertainer.

The fox trot was not Mel’s shining moment; Maks can only carry her so far.  Now the Paso Doble, which is the man’s dance, was a different story.  This particular dance was more suited to her considerable dance talent.  Maks again carried it as he should; it is the dance of the Matador.

Jane Seymour is the picture of the English gentlewoman, her “semi” quick step was nicely done, and her cha-cha was a proper English cha-cha.  Hey, Jane, Tony is the US Latin Dance Champion take advantage of that.

Even though Cameron messed up a little on the footwork of the quick step, he was a joy to watch; and his jive was the best of the night.  I think Cameron is now the front runner.

Getting back to waltz music; the horrible music was so distracting it really took away from Jennie Garth’s performance; not that the performance was all that great, but if the music were different it would look a whole lot better.  Her dance lines are beautiful, but you can only do so much with step and stretch.  The judges, however continue to pander to her.  Methinks she will be the next to depart.

Don’t forget to vote, because your vote does count.  It was nice how the stars had that “cheetah” washable tattoo on in support of Sabrina.  Does 90210 have a tattoo?

    1. Mike Blake Says:

The vocal performances on DWTS sound like bad karaoke, and make it hard to concentrate on the dancers. Not to mention, the fact that the VOX are high in the mix. If you aren’t gonna axe the performers, at least turn em down a bit, would me much more pleasurable.
