DWTS: Is this season for real?
Seriously, there is a black cloud hovering over this season of DWTS. First Jane’s mother dies, then Marie faints, then Jane gets food poisoning, then Marie’s father dies. This is a really bizarre season even for ABC.
The judges selection for a repeat performance was the Paso Doble by Mel and Maks, and they proved why they will be right up there all the way to the finals. Mel looked absolutely trim in that costume. You would never think she has a baby under a year old.
The vocal guest tonight was LeAnn Rimes, who will also be appearing on ABC tomorrow night for the CMA awards. I found it extremely difficult to understand her in both her numbers, I don’t know if it’s because she shoved the mike down her throat, or the hillbilly accent was extremely pronounced. Tony and Julianne danced to her first number and all I can say is WOW what a performance. It’s easy to see why they are two champion dancers. The lady pros danced to her second number and they too were astonishing. ABC, don’t import dancers to fill time – use the pros they are so much better.
Well the Stars of Dance was a waste of my viewing time. The hip hop belonged on the playground, not the dance floor.
We could have used more “Dance Center” time. How enjoyable was that? Kenny was a perfect example of the host who likes to hear himself think. Love Jerry Rice, and even Len was tolerable. I only hope the writers strike doesn’t keep this particular skit from appearing on a regular basis.
Now to the reason we all tuned in – who was eliminated. No surprise, Jane Seymour is a beautiful woman who has all the elegance and charm you can imagine, but even Tony wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition. Ever the gracious English gentlewoman, she was tremendously charming and elegant in her final interview. Poor Tony, last season Liza Gibbons, and the season before Sara Evans; maybe next time somebody younger and hipper will get him as a partner.
