DWTS: last night’s results show
First let me say that if you eat filet mignon three times a week for a year, you’ll be sick and tired of filet mignon. Hey ABC, how much can you force feed the American Viewing Public DWTS and its variations before DWTS is down in the valley of ratings. According to my published TV guide, Opportunity Knocks was supposed to be on at 8 p.m. on Tuesday; lo and behold yet another “recap” of DWTS. Followed, of course, by the results show. Tom Bergeron is an amusing and talented host, but nuf is nuf!!! Has Opportunity Knocks been cancelled already?
To my Surprise, Toni and Alec were the couple eliminated from Tuesday’s show. This must have to do with fan base, because they are head and shoulders better than Susan and Tony and Lance and Lacey. I’ll personally miss seeing Alec, after Maks left, he was the only professional male dancer with machismo on the show, Tony is too sensitive, those guys were macho.
The ballroom kids segment once again reinforces the fact that Ballroom Dancing is a vibrant sport (?) and has a youthful following. Mitchell and Maria did a paso doble that would make any matador proud. By the way, even though it was billed as the Jive, if you pros(and I mean Derek and Julianne) watch the tape, you’ll see the jitterbug done the way it should be by Alisa and Anthony! That Brian Setzer Orchestra was actually very good, and how about Karina and Louis; that’s what I mean about using the DWTS pros.
As far as the Macy’s Stars of Dance performance, it was not my cup of tea at all. I would much rather see those Flamenco guys or the Rockettes or the DWTS pros.
If the contestants think that Len Goodman was tough, just wait until they receive a critique from Michael Flatley. This is worth the price of admission!
