DWTS Latest Results: Chuck Wicks is Eliminated

Results night on Dancing with the Stars and I’m not all that thrilled about the show tonight.  Yes I love the show but I was so worried that one of my favorites would be gone after tonight – I love Ty, Gilles, Shawn and Lil’Kim and I like Melissa.  So my fingers are crossed at the beginning of the show that it’s Chuck who will get the boot.
First up tonight – the encore performance.  The judges’ choice – Team Tango.  The performance was awesome last night and even better tonight (Lil’Kim didn’t have any mistakes).  I loved how the pros featured the celebrities at the beginning of the performance, and I thought it was great that they were all dressed alike.  Makes the great unison seem even better.  After a recap of last night’s show there is a comedy bit about all the endorsements the celebrities are getting. The first one “Ballroom Dancers of Genius” a takeoff on the beer commercials.  I thought it was pretty good.  I wonder who writes these.

After commercials, Robin Thicke performed his song “When I get you Alone” accompanied by pros Cheryl, Edyta, Kym, Dmitry, Alec and Tony.  As always, a great performance by the professionals.  A backstage interview with Melissa reveals that it “broke her heart” to not compete last night.  A bit off topic, but didn’t Bachelor/Bachelorette contestant DeAnna always say that things broke her heart?  From there a one question interview  of  Lil’Kim and then the first elimination announcement – Lil’Kim and Derek are safe.

A time wasting segment on how to create the perfect celebrity partner based on the strengths of the remaining six celebrities was aired, followed by another elimination announcement. Ty and Chelsie are safe.  Yes!  Take that Len Goodman.  America loves Ty.  He’s a gentleman, pure and simple.  He’s a good guy, the kind you could bring home to mother.  And he’s adorable.  How could you not vote for him?  Another funny commercial called “Dance Match” a takeoff on eHarmony and other internet dating sites airs next.  It starred real life couple Chuck and Julianne.  Sometimes they are too much to take.  This was one of those times.

Robin Thicke performed again, his song “Sidestep” accompanied by two pros I didn’t recognize.  I don’t think his backup singers sang one note.  A pathetic interview by Samantha leads into the next announcement – Gilles and Cheryl are safe.  A funny commercial “I’d rather go naked” sponsored by People for the Ethical Treatment of Dancers aired next.  I thought it was hysterical.  I loved the huge mirrored ball held by Derek and the small one held by Tony.  I’m still laughing.

The pro dancer competition was next.  Genya Mazo, Afton DelGrosso,  Mayo Alanen and Anna Demidova made it through.  Three contestants will make it through to next week, and will be paired up with a celebrity from a former season to see how they work with training a non-dancer.

An elimination announcement follows – Shawn and Mark are safe.  Chuck and Julianne and Melissa and Tony are still in jeopardy.

In the end it was Chuck Wicks who was sent home.  I was very happy to see my favorites make it to next week.

Thank you for the quick updates. I enjoy reading them as I don’t have a TV.

How bad must Chuck feel to get sent home over someone who didn’t even dance this week? I mean, I know Melissa is a better dancer, but still!

I thought Chuck was kind of bitter in what he said. He started to blame the team dance as his downfall (but didn’t Melissa get the same score). Tom Bergeron showed so much class when he said “let’s focus on the positives right now.”
