DWTS Latest Results: Lil’ Kim is eliminated

Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars results show started off as all of them seem to – with a recap of last night’s show.  Is it just me or what are the chances that someone watching the results show tonight did not see the performance show last night?  And if they did miss the show how much did they get out of this segment?

After commercial there was a performance by musical guest Jamie Cullum.  He performed the Frank Sinatra song “I get a kick out of you.”  I wasn’t so thrilled with the music but I loved the performance of the Quickstep by two pros whose names I didn’t catch.  I wish I did because I’d love to put them here.  Next up was this season’s installment of Dance Center with Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len Goodman.  I loved how Len was getting picked on and beat up by the other two guys.  In their sarcastic and funny manner they picked apart Ty, Lil’ Kim and Shawn in this segment.  We get part two to look forward to later in the show.

Commercial break, then the first elimination announcement of the night.  Gilles and Cheryl are safe and going to compete in next week’s semi finals.  This is followed up by part 2 of Dance Center.  Let me just say that for all I complain about Len Goodman I’ll never say that he doesn’t have a great sense of humor and I think after watching tonight he really doesn’t take himself all that seriously.  The Macy’s Stars of Dance was up next, featuring what Samantha Harris calls the biggest star the ballroom has ever seen.  Silly me I’m looking for Michael Flatley or some other famous dancer.  Half way through the performance I realize that the sculpture the dancers are using is in the shape of a star.  Hello.

The first of the pro dancer competitors was up first.  Afton Del Grosso was paired with Cody Lindley.  Cody is so adorable yet so hard to manage in terms of focus and attention.  I think Afton did a nice job with the Samba getting him under control and teaching him a great routine.  I like her, and I think she’d be a great addition to the show.

An elimination announcement after the commercial – Melissa and Tony are safe.  Up next is pro dancer contestant Mayo Alanen and Lisa Rinna.  Their Quickstep was good but I questioned some of his choreography (the stripping at the end).  Anna Demidova and Maurice Greene were the final dancers in this competition.  Maurice picked the Tango, a dance he never did to see how well she could do as a teacher.  She did a great job.  The judges said Maurice never looked better.  This is followed by the announcement that Shawn and Mark are safe, leaving Ty and Chelsie and Lil’ Kim in the bottom 2.

In the end it was Lil’ Kim who was eliminated.  I guess Ty’s fans carried him through.  We need to vote even more for him next week since he will definitely be in danger.

No offense to Ty, because I think he’s done great, and I like him a lot; however, with that said, there is no way Lil Kim should have been eliminated in favor of Ty. TBH I like Ty better than Lil Kim as a person.

For you to say you need to vote even more for Ty this coming week because he will be in danger, is just silly. This is a competition, you vote for the best dancer. Ty should not be in the top four, he is not one of top four best dancers. Vote for the best dancer not who you happen to like the best….that is not the point of the show, especially at this point in the competition.

My comments- that Macy’s Stars performance was like a pole dance on the Macy Star! And- Frank Sinatra must be rolling over in his grave with that interpretation of his song! It seemed to me that the young man was on some kind of performance dehancing drug.

As far as Ty staying and Lil Kim going – Hey Lil Kim was my choice for the grand finale along with Gilles; but Ty just came across as a heck of a nice guy. Ok Lil Kim is a better dancer; but, she is a performer and this is just another step for her. Ty is so out of his comfort zone you can’t believe it, and he has done all and more than was asked of him in the dances. Keep it up Ty, you have my votes!

America has and always will root for the underdog. Yes, it’s a competition, but it’s more for the hearts of the audience than the feet of the competitors. GO TY GO

It’s a dance competition, but the beauty of the show is that the fans have a say in who wins. From the start Gilles, Melissa and Shawn have been great dancers – they haven’t had to advance too far to be as good as they are now. Poor Ty in week 1 got 4’s. Now he’s getting 8’s and 9’s. I always thought the purpose of the show is to take someone successful in another area and put them in an arena way beyond their comfort zone. Melissa had previous dance experience; Shawn is used to competing for judges’ votes, and Gilles is a performer. Ty is a cowboy – he’s never had to perform for any kind of subjective scoring. And for that reason I think he deserves to be in the final 4.
