DWTS: Latin Night
Tonight the celebrities shook their booties, or tried to, to two Latin dances, the Rumba and the Samba. Truthfully, the best part of this show was the costumes. The ladies looked fine and that chest waxing for the guys wasn’t bad either.
Rumba – In my opinion the best of the Rumba went to Jason and Edyta. You could tell he was way way out of his comfort zone, but he sold the dance anyway; the score was only 27, two points behind Kristi, but to me his was best. As for Kristi, I could take it or leave it with her performance. Her costume was lovely, and I liked the flying hair, but the dance, as I said I could take it or leave it. With Cristian, it was as though he phoned in the performance. Once again, they looked good, but the dancing was ho hum. Priscilla looked terrific, and believe me she is doing a great job for a lady of a certain age, but there was not much dancing in her dance. I think this dance could be her swan song.
Samba – Mario and Karina were the best in Samba. He conveyed the idea of the “fun” of the Samba, and it was a real crowd pleaser. In my opinion, this was his best dance so far. Marissa and Tony turned in another crow pleaser and her best dance to date. She got in to the feel of the dance and did a great job. Fabian Sanchez is probably the best of the lot in choreography. To work with a person who can’t hear the music, give her the most complicated of steps, and smile is amazing. True Marlee, was 1/2 a beat behind, but her dancing is an inspiration, and it was the most technically difficult of the Samba dances. The score, 22, was not great, but the lady is a winner. Tonight, the judges were surprisingly tough on Shannon, they usually fall over backward complimenting her. This was not a very good dance for her, and even though the steps were nice, she didn’t have any hip action; you need hip action in the Samba. Poor Derek, last week his neck, this week food poisoning, this hasn’t been such a great run for him. I did hear Shannon say Jonathan was prepared to take his place if needed. The way Derek’s luck is running, that might be next week.
Well, tomorrow is the longest running hour in TV. We’ll see who gets eliminated. I think it’s going to be either Priscilla or Cristian or Marlee or Marissa. I didn’t vote this time, so I’m not going to jinx anybody.

I thought that Jason looked mechanical and that his Viennese Waltz last week was one hundred times sexier. Marissa had the best Samba because she had the most bounce. At least that is what I think. Best costume goes to Karina and her thong skirt. That was held up by some dental floss.
