DWTS – The Finals
And the winner is – the viewing audience. Tonight, the show was everything you could want in a final. There were three contestants evenly matched who put everything they had into their performances this evening and it was all you could ask for as a viewer.
The first Paso doble danced by Laila and Maks was excellent. The music choice of traditional paso music enhanced their performance. This is a man’s dance and Maks did his part to perfection; and for an amateur, Laila was marvelous. Their second dance, the freestyle was not quite as special as I had anticipated. The best part was when Laila removed his shirt in the end. Surprisingly enough, the judges were actually critical. This was not Laila’s best; but it was better than any of the other non-pro female dancers.
The rumba features the female dancer, and Julianne was as usual marvelous. I would have liked to have latin music rather than that Midnight Train to Georgia, but musical selection aside, I thought Apolo did a great job. Why doesn’t Len like him? Well, the worm turned in the freestyle, even Len had to agree that the performance was absolutely perfection. I think it was every bit as good as Drew’s Save A Horse freestyle in the second season.
Joey once again proved that he is the consummate entertainer. Although there wasn’t much cha in the cha-cha, they sold the dance and got a great ovation from the audience. Their freestyle was full of lifts and glitz and was great entertainment. This was about a hair short of Apolo’s performance. Joey has come a long way as a ballroom dancer.
Just some observations, the judges kept chipping away at Apolo and Joey, mostly Apolo and were kissing up to Laila. I couldn’t believe they actually criticized her freestyle and praised Joey and Apolo, humm. Judges aside this is a program that can be enjoyed by the whole family and I look forward to seeing it again in the fall.
Well, who will win? It’s anybody’s ballgame, and they all are deserving. I am not going to vote for anyone, because my vote is a sure elimination.
