DWTS: The good, the bad and the unicycle
Tell me folks, what would these contestants do without DWTS’s Jonathan? He has been an absolute savior for Steve (oops, he lost) and Shannon Elizabeth when their partners were incapacitated. Even though Steve lost, Shannon’s waltz was elegant, classic and smooth; I think her best dance of the competition. Hope Derek stays healthy!
Jason could definitely be a contender. Although he tripped up a couple of times in his waltz, he wowed the judges and the audience (me included). Priscilla did a very nice waltz; it was appropriate for a woman of a certain age, but I think the grind is starting to show in her work. After all, the lady is of a certain age. Marlee’s waltz was also very nice, but I feel the hearing loss is making her performances difficult for her. She is an inspiration as she guts it out each week as the competition gets harder and harder.
Now let’s talk Paso Doble - the cream of the crop was, of course, Kristi and Mark. Kristi is an example of a great technician, and this dance started to bring out her inner actress. Mario did a very good paso doble, but this is a man’s dance and this gives the female competitors an advantage since the man has all the difficulty. Marissa also gave a good performance, but her body structure limits her in performing some of the more difficult moves. Nonetheless, it was her best dance so far. Christian did quite a bit of yelling; his was a very macho interpretation bringing out his Latin heritage. Now to the unicycle - what was that all about? Who could believe Zorro on a unicycle? Julianne is really pulling out all the stops with Adam this time, and they were needed. He tried, but boy was that bad!
This week I did not vote for any of the dancers. My vote is the kiss of death. I think, though, Adam should pack up his dancing shoes and shave his mustache. Am I correct? Probably not!
