DWTS: The Ladies Perform
There was quite a bit of posturing by some of the ladies after the men danced; and this was their time to put up or shut up. Let’s start with those who won’t be around too long to have an awful lot to say: Shannon - she looks like a million bucks but is as stiff as a collar with too much starch. True, she went first, but I got the feeling she froze out there; her cha cha was a lot of posing and stretching and not much chachaing. Monica is one fantastic tennis player, and she missed her prom - wha-wha! (while she was missing it, she made beaucoup bucks) - anyhow, she used up the rest of the starch in the box because she looked so uncomfortable and ill at ease. She did look great in pink. I kind of had a flashback to Jennie Garth from last season, and if she can pull it together she might do well.
Does anyone in the show have as much enthusiasm as Marissa - I don’t think so! The crowd loved her and her vibes were great. She does have to take it down a couple of notches, because this is TV, not Broadway, and you don’t have to reach the back row.
Who would have thought that Priscilla would pull out such a magnificent fox trot! She looked great without her hair falling in her face, and the green costume was marvelous. She is showing us “older folks” that you can do it. I hope she lasts for a while. Marlee left no doubt in anyone’s mind that having physical challenges won’t stop you if you really want to do something. Her cha cha had the best footwork of all.
Now to the icing on the cake - Kristi. All I can say is WOW! She does have a head start on the others because her skating has given her to confidence to perform live in front of an audience; and not only singles, but she did win the US pairs championship in her younger days with Rudy Galindo; that gives her the edge in “partner” performance. Edge or not, her performance with Mark seemed absolutely effortless - WOW! Guys start pointing your toes, and stand up straight or Priscilla, Marlee, Marissa or Kristi will take the trophy away from you!
