DWTS: The Lucky 7
Tonight’s show featured the seven remaining contestants doing different dances rather than the previous formats of half doing one and half doing another; this was a little more challenging for the viewer because you couldn’t really compare and contrast the performances. By the way, CarrieAnn showed a little skin, maybe she’s getting ready for her new show, just a thought.
For me personally, the first, Sabrina & Mark, and last, Helio and Julianne, performances were the best of the evening. For a moment, I thought I might be watching the Yankee Classic professional ballroom competition when Sabrina and Mark did their Fox Trot. They showed flashes of brilliance and her performance was really on the mark I would give her all 10s. The judges thought it was “too powerful” and only gave a total of 25. Now to Helio and Julianne – Who can dance to a Hip-Hop Cha Cha? Helio and Julianne, that’s who. The music STUNK; the performance rocked. However, they only scored 28.
When Jennie and Derek came on stage I thought, “Haven’t I seen that costume before?” They had a lot of excellent hand movements, but their dancing was uninspired, and they did not use much of the floor. The judges were pandering to her again, what’s going on there? Give me a break, she is a professional performer where does that Freaking Out come into play? I guess that would be for the pity vote. Well, Jane Seymour is pushing 60, how could the judges expect an energetic jive from her? This was not her best dance, but she tried. I can’t believe the judges actually criticized her performance, usually she walks on water. Cameron did not make the Samba sizzle for me. He did a lot of jumping around, but not much of the samba. Carrie Ann on the other hand thought it was “jungle like and passionate”. Who’s Jungle, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh?
Mel and Maks – it looked to me like she had on one of Edyta’s old costumes, not too much material, and a lot of glitter. The dance was sultry and sexy, and that was Maks’ performance! Actually, it was well done, and their cozying up to the judges, Carrie Ann and Bruno actually got them a score of 30. What can I say about the Paso Doble danced by Marie and Jonathan? It reminded me of a black and white tango done on an old Turner Classic Silent Movie, slow, stiff, and very melodramatic. As to the group Rock N Roll dance, I think Christian Perry did an excellent job of working the dance to the individual strengths of the dancers. This was not as good as some of the previous group dances, but I found it to be entertaining.
This week, I actually tried to phone in a vote; but I got, “all circuits are busy.” I guess that saves one couple from the kiss of death. My guess is that Jane or Jennie will go tomorrow night, tune in to see.

Would you be voting for Cameron by any chance? I think the circuits were all busy because every red blooded American female wants to see Cameron in his skivvies!
