DWTS: The playing field is leveled
There were a whole lot of couples who got the same score, 21, from the three judges tonight. How they could have scored Mario and Karina and Marlee and Fabian the same as Adam and Julianne and Steve and Anna is beyond me. Granted, Adam has improved, and so has Steve(maybe Jonathan should train him all the time), but Mario and Marlee are head and shoulders above them.
Holding up the roster are Marissa and Tony. Their jive was not really impressive, and the judges score, 19 reflected it. You would think jive would be her strong point, but I got the feeling she was mailing in the performance. While the judges were hard on Mario, I think he is improving tremendously in posture and performance. Despite the fact that Marlee is hearing impaired, her jive was very nice. Her partner is one great teacher. When Julianne wears a long dress, even in a tango, you know she is trying to hide her partner’s footwork. Even though, it was Adam’s best performance to date.
How about the Priscilla - Louis tango. Who would believe she is over 60? What an actress!
I hope she has the stamina and fan base to last for a while. Someone please explain why the judges pander to Shannon Elizabeth. Ok, she’s gorgeous, but was she stiff in that jive or what? Christian on the other had was very energetic and looked as if he enjoyed the jive; but I didn’t think it was his best performance. There is something about Edyta that brings out a good jive in her partners; for example, Cameron last season. Jason did a commendable performance in the jive even though he wasn’t too particularly comfortable with it. Finally Kristi, she is the consummate technician, but her performance looked to be just a little mechanical.
That’s my take on tonight’s show - what do you think - will it be Adam or Marissa who will get the boot tomorrow?
