Edyta Sliwinska
Edyta Sliwinska is the only dancer to have appeared on all four seasons of “Dancing with the Stars” and this season will be no different. Edyta has been paired with boxing champion Evander Holyfield (they placed fifth), actor George Hamilton (they placed fifth as well), actor Joey Lawrence (they placed third), and actor John Ratzenberger (they placed sixth). This year, her partner will be soap star Cameron Mathison.
Edyta was born in Poland on May 5, 1982. She started dance class at age 11 and credits her family with helping her pursue her passion for Latin dancing. All of Edyta’s training paid off. She and professional partner Alex Mazo were named the Emerald Ball Latin Amateur Champion. They also won first place in the 2001 International Grand Ball in San Francisco and first place in the 2001 Holiday Dance Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. Edyta no longer dances professionally so she can concentrate on her television schedule and other dancing events. Her favorite dance is the Rumba.
Edyta and Alec married on September 1 of this year. The couple wanted to marry last year, but their “Dancing with the Stars” and tour schedule made that difficult.

My favorite dance is Rumba. It is very sophisticated and sexy at the same time. It requires a lot of sensuality and control. Also you have to react off of your partner more than in any other dance. Without relationship between the partners rumba becomes boring and looks fake. And I don’t mean that you have to be in love with your partner in your private life to dance great Rumba. You just, as in acting have to use your imagination and act “as if” you were in love.
