Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - one of the nicest shows on TV
One of my favorite things about ABC’s reality television program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is that the show gives back to the community. It’s about helping people in tough situations. There’s no cut throat competition that you might find on other reality television programs. Besides building homes for these deserving families, the show helps to establish incomes for the families, like the time they built a store for a mom who sold nursing uniforms to help support her family.
This episode aired a few weeks back. This single mom and her children lived in an unsafe and dangerous home. Even though she had a difficult living situation, she was out in the community helping those less fortunate and raising money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. To help raise money for her family this mother sold nurses uniforms out of her home, but if someone was unable to afford the uniform, she gave it to them for free. The makeover team not only created her a beautiful store, they stocked it with scrubs and nurses uniforms of all sizes for her to sell and give to those in need.
