Final Audition Round
This was the final auditioning round of America’s Got Talent, focusing on Chicago and the Midwest. Regis has begun referring to David Hasselhoff as the “Big Hasselhoff,” but to me, he is just the “Big Doofus.” In fact, all the judges continue to irritate me. Piers will say he would like to see more of an act (which to me is a ‘Yes’) then Brandy or David chimes in with “I’m going to vote first and say ‘Yes!’” like they are in grade school and just must be first. Um, no, Piers said yes first, you idiots.
Anyhow, tonight’s show had some good acts. Mark “The Knife” Faje lived up to his reputation as “The World’s Most Dangerous Comic.” I thought John & Owen “The Passing Zone” were hilarious, as did Piers and Brandy, but Hasselhoff said, “No, if they had something they should have brought it tonight.” That’s funny since I saw David laughing during the act. What a dope he is! Anyhow, they made it through to the next round. Taylor Ware, the young yodeler, was good, but it was just strange. I was not impressed with the stepping of the Players Club, but they made it through anyhow. And yes, I know what stepping is and I’ve seen better stepper - in person. The Quick Change Artists were freaking me out – I rewound my DVR and slowed it down and I still couldn’t tell what they were doing. Lilia Stepanova was amazing with her contortion/archery tricks. The Millers were good – the little guy could play the harmonica, but his spastic Joe Cocker moves were getting on my nerves.
Of course, there were some really stupid acts tonight that would have scored big laughs on the Gong Show: Flippy the Magnificent (what was with the blow up doll?), Sharon Kissane (it was funny that Brandy was looking for the birds in the studio), the Laughing Yogi (I think the title says it all), and the Chicago Matadors (scary, just scary).
