Finally the winner on DWTS – Brooke Burke!

Of course we start the show with a recap of the recap of the recap and the performances and the critiques.  That took probably half an hour.  Interspaced through this were glimpses of Cloris being Cloris, and that alleviated some of the ho hum.  We were then treated(?) to a performance by Alicia Keyes, who sounded a little off key to me, so much so that I muted her.  (Now why oh why didn’t I mute some of those others?  Old too soon, Smart too late!)

The eliminated contestants then danced.  A couple of observations, when you watch a mambo and the female is gorgeous and has a body to die for, yet you glue your eyes to the male dancer, this tells you the female can’t dance – Kim Kardashian.  Rocco had more movement in his hips this time than he did during his whole time on DWTS, and the other previous contestants were so much more at ease. To my chagrin, neither Maks nor Alec danced because their partners were injured.  So much for the sizzle factor.   Cloris and Corky and Cody and Julianne, all crowd pleasers received standing ovations.

Jeffrey Ross did his stich and roasted the finalists.  He took a couple of shots at Lance and Warren and Brooke.  Some not too tasteful, but what do you expect?

Finally, we have the final dances:  Hustle – Warren and Kym – they worked the house and finished with a standing O and a score of 27.  Jitterbug – Lance and Lacey – a little frenetic, a little out of step, but his shoes stayed on.  Another standing O and a score of 28.  Viennese Waltz- Brooke and Derek perfection to the judges (30) but a missed step here and there,  One heartstring tug, she kissed two of her girls at the end of the dance.

Then we have Miss Miley Cyrus, 15 going on 35 with her own band and dancers.  Lots of noise and flying hair; all and all eh.

AND THE WINNER IS – To the surprise of nobody, Brooke and Derek, with Warren and Kym in second and Lance and Lacey finishing 3rd.  Nice wrap-up, and we got the announcement that the show will be back in March.  What will ABC force on us in the interum.
