First Episode of Grease: You’re the one that I want
Tonight I decided to give Grease: You’re The One That I Want a try. I wasn’t too sure what to think of the premise of the show, but since I kind of like Broadway shows I thought I would watch and see what happens. The premise: the producers of a Broadway production of “Grease” hold open auditions to find a pool of contestants to try out for the lead roles of Danny and Sandy. America then votes to select the people who will star in these roles, and will open on Broadway this summer.
I hope next week the judges are able to find some more talent. There were a lot of good people on the show tonight but very few made it through- only 7 from Chicago were selected to go to Grease Academy, the boot camp from which the 12 finalists will emerge.
I’m not sure yet how I like the show. I’m hoping that I’ll get more interested in it when it goes to the live shows. But I do think it’s worth my time – at least for now.
