Floyd Mayweather eliminated in week 4 of Dancing With The Stars
If it’s Tuesday then it must be the Dancing With the Stars results show. No, I won’t complain about the length of time of the show this week. I did have a thought….I seem to remember the last season or two that the hour before the results show was a recap show of the previous night’s performances. I guess Caveman beats that any day.
Len starts off by addressing the lifts controversy. He stated that lifts are against the rules, but last night was done and over so going forward if a lift is done then the couple will be penalized. Bad dancers, bad, bad, bad….no lifting please, even though it adds such great drama and crowd appeal to the performances.
The judges select Cameron and Edyta as the encore performance……YES! Cameron is getting the recognition he so deserves for an awesome performance. He beings with a wardrobe malfunction, but not the kind of wardrobe malfunction that most women would hope for. His sleeves were supposed to be torn off by Edyta in the performance but right in the beginning one of them fell off. He handled it like a pro. I just hope he didn’t tire himself out too much for the finale of I Wanna Be A Soap Star that is on live tonight at 11:00 pm Eastern Time.
Gloria Estefan was supposed to be the musical performer tonight but Tom Bergeron said that due to personal reasons she would not be performing tonight. The band singers performed her song “Rhythm is Gonna Get You” while Tony, Maks, Anna and Elena danced. Great performance. I think the producers should give an opportunity to spotlight the musicians more often than they do, and based on the success of this number I’m hoping they will do that again soon.
While I still question the need for Jimmy Kimmel on the show, I am so grateful that he has stopped his learning to dance segments in favor of comedy skits. Still somewhat a waste of time, but much better than last season.
Wade Robson, a dancer and choreographer who has done work with pop stars like Britney Spears was the performer in the “Stars of Dance Performance” sponsored by Macy’s. I guess it’s rare that he dances anymore because he is so known for his choreography and he did this circus inspired/themed dance. I didn’t get it. That’s all I’ll say about it. I just didn’t get it.
Wayne Newton performed the song “Danke Shein” while Cheryl Burke and Drew Lachey danced a really nice routine that featured just about every ballroom style of dance. You can see why Wayne is such a draw in Vegas because he gives an awesome performance. One thing I noticed about Wayne – he acknowledged Drew and Cheryl before he acknowledged the praise of the crowd for his performance. What a gentleman. Tom Bergeron stated that this collaboration was put together in under 24 hours. I think they did a pretty good job.
The bottom two couples this week were Karina and Floyd and Mel and Maks. Bergeron asks Bruno who should stay and he comes right out and says Mel is the best dancer and should stay. The viewers agreed with Bruno and Floyd was sent home in week 4 of Dancing With The Stars.
I was pretty surprised that Mark Cuban was saved this week. He’s really fun to watch but I think he is the weakest dancer and performer left among the celebrities. But he seems to have some really strong fan support – otherwise he would have been gone a long time ago. But as long as the fans keep voting for him he could be around for a few more weeks. If he stays around I think he’ll be toast when it comes to the two dances a week portion of the competition.
